Data protection

Protecting your privacy is particularly important to us. And that also applies to your visit to our website. That is why we want to explain the data processing procedures of our website. In the following, we would like to describe what we do to protect your data and which data we collect. It is our duty to protect the data of those who visit our website. Third parties only have access to the stored data in the form and way described here in this notice. We can assure you that no person-related data is shared with cooperation partners or advertising companies. We reserve the right to amend the information in this privacy policy in conformity with changed legislation or judicature without prior notice. The currently published version shall be applicable.

First information about data protection: the statutory basis

(Federal Data Protection Act and Telemedia Act) The Federal Data Protection Act and, subsequently, also the Telemedia Act protect person-related data. This is data that refers to natural persons. Data from legal entities are not subject to this protection. Person-related data is information that can be assigned to your person (i.e., your name, telephone number or your email address). Information which cannot be directly linked to your actual identity (such as, for example, the items indicated by you on a website), does not fall under this protection.

By using our website you agree that we may collect certain data. In return, we are obliged to collect only the absolutely necessary data and to protect your data at all times. If you just visit our website, we do not collect any person-related data. That means that you can visit our website without telling us who you are. We only have information about the name of your internet service provider as well as the IP address used to access our website, the web page from which you visit us, and the web pages you look at. This information is assessed for statistical purposes in order to help us continually improve our products. An a unique user, you remain anonymous. Only when you send us a message using our contact page do we collect certain person-related data necessary for carrying out the service.

Collecting and processing non-person-related data

Every time a user accesses our website, i.e. every time it retrieves or attempts to retrieve a file on this server, data about the procedure is stored in a log file. This data is not person-related; in other words, we cannot trace which user retrieved which data. And we also do not try to collect this information. Individually, the following data sets are stored for every retrieval:

  • Name of the file retrieved
  • Date and time it was retrieved
  • Volume of data transferred
  • Reports whether it was successfully retrieved
  • Reports on why a retrieval failed if applicable
  • Name of your internet service provider
  • Operating system, if applicable, and browser software on your computer as well as the website from which you visited

All of these data are only assessed for statistical purposes by us and by the service providers we contract. We use the data only to make our website even better for you.

Use and sharing of person-related data and appropriation

Person-related data is only collected when you have given it to us on your own initiative using the contact page. All of the person-related data occurring through our website is only collected, processed and used in compliance with the currently valid regulations on the protection of person-related data. As part of the processing of your requests and your use of our services, we contract service providers. The service providers are contractually liable to comply with this privacy policy. Your person-related data is only shared with third parties with your explicit permission and only as far as these recipients agree with us to comply with the valid statutory data protection regulations. It is then up to you to decide whether you agree to share your person-related data with third parties or not. Processing and using your data for consulting, advertising and marketing research purposes only takes place if you have explicitly given permission for these purposes. No data is processed in a third country outside of the EU.
